Translation:
A young boy was sent by his father to deliver a gift to his grandfather in another village. The father sent with the boy a package which he said contained the gift, but told the boy he should not open the package for any reason until he reached his destination. Throughout the days of his travels, the boy encountered different types of plants, birds, and animals. He paused to look at them, touch them, remember them. He also found stones, dust, mud and many difficulties. He had to cross a river, jump a ditch, and endure cold and heat. Finally, the boy arrived in the village, and his grandfather asked him to open the package. The boy stared in surprise at the empty package, and asked his grandfather for an explanation. This is how he learned the the gift was not something made. The gift was the sum of all the experiences that the boy had on his trip, everything he had seen, smelled, and felt had filled the empty package. Knowledge is built with each and every experience, with each moment we live for those who take advantage of the opportunity to be an apprentice.
Querida Emily,

ReplyDeleteIt's ocho sinco (Jim). Do they have llamas and alpacas in Ecuador? If they do you should put a picture of a llama on your blog. I want to catch the next plane to Ecuador to visit you. when do you start classes? I'm assuming you can write back and answer all of these questions. We are waiting for bacchus to throw up. He's been acting odd. He walks around and stares at the doorknob. He's been laying in the laundry room too. Mom doesn't know what he wants. She lets him outside but he probably is just gonna want to go outside again.

ReplyDeleteDid you you hear that aunt Lu is coming over tonight. I can't wait to see aunt Lu. Thank goodness it's Friday! We have a full week next week and Jesse is coming home. Then after that we have a three day week. I've been so tired this last week. It's not because I haven't been getting enough sleep.

ReplyDeleteMy team improved 4-0. I made a shot With 10 seconds to lift us the 21-20 victory. I had 7 points. The odd number came because I swished a three in the corner. The other 2 points I had came on an inbound pass. My teammate called the stack. Everyone on the other team went over but I stayed. They inbounded to me and I made a short bunny shot. The shot I made with 10 seconds left was: My teammate gave me the ball on the perimeter and I drove and banked off the backboard.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if my hand falls off from all of the wood carving I just did. My thumb is killing me from putting all of the pressure of the carving knife. Right now I'm waiting for Owen to get here. Although he should be here soon. I guess I'll talk to you later.

ReplyDeleteWe are just waking up this morning. I am so tired because I stayed up to 1:00 with Liz last night. We were watching the first Harry Potter. Mom came in and woke us up at 9:15. They were originally going to go riding but, the barn doors had frozen closed. I was going to wake up and have the whole house to myself. I'm fine with them not going though. This means I get to eat breakfast earlier. Good Luck.
